Waterplay

The source image is of a boy playing with a garden hose late on a summer afternoon.  The backlit spray shoots in all directions and surrounds the boy like an aura.  I originally captured the action and joy of the moment in a watercolor.  Having recently returned to painting in oil, I decided to challenge myself again, this tine in oil on linen.
